A French-speaking adventure for parents and children.
Play. Create. Discover. Connect. In French.
Ensemble is a 2-week, 4-session, hands-on family experience where parents and children spend time together in French through art, games, music, films, food, and playful conversation. You don't need to speak perfect French. You don't even need to speak much French at all. You just need to be curious enough to join in. You play together. You create together. You discover French culture together.
For the parent who already speaks it.
Maybe French is part of your family story. Maybe you grew up speaking it. Maybe you lived in France. Maybe you simply fell in love with the language and culture. Ensemble gives you a space to share that connection with your child. Pass on the language. Share the culture. Make new memories together.
For the parent who's discovering it too.
You don't speak much French? That's completely fine.
You can still play the game, make the craft, sing along, discover the story and have a go at speaking French with your child. You don't have to know everything. You get to learn together
.
It's an experience where French happens naturally.
Instead of sitting through a traditional lesson, families use French while they're busy doing something together.
En mouvement: French in Motion
Get moving - in French!
Families will take part in fun games, challenges and movement activities, all guided in French. They’ll hear and use words for the body, movement and actions while playing, listening and working together. A fun, active way to experience French through movement.
À table: Cooking in French
Let’s cook in French!
Families will prepare something delicious while discovering the language of the kitchen. They’ll follow simple instructions, discover ingredients, describe what they’re doing and, of course, taste their creations along the way. French, food and a little bit of fun - all in one workshop!
Petits explorateurs : Laneway &
Street Art Tour
A walking tour in French
Let’s explore street art and Melbourne famous laneways in French!
On this interactive walking tour, children will discover street art around them while learning to describe what they see. They’ll play with colours, shapes and descriptive vocabulary, and share their opinions. We’ll look, talk, share ideas and discover how much French we can use while exploring the city.
En musique: Say It with Music
Families will explore French through songs, rhythm and playful activities. They’ll listen to French, play with sounds and expressions, sing along and use their voices and bodies to bring the language to life.
A joyful way to build confidence and have fun with French.
Parents aren't dropping their children off and coming back later. You're in it together. That matters.
Because children are often more willing to try something new when they see the adults around them having a go too. And parents get to experience the little moments alongside them: The first French word they use without thinking. The joke they understand. The song they start singing at home. The moment they realise, "Oh, I actually understood that." These are the moments Ensemble is built around.
